It was a glorious Christmas Eve at Life Church. Families enjoyed festive fun, while being dressed to impress. Christmas cheer hung in the air like snowflakes as carols filled the church.

Why would the Lord of All come naked into the world? Why would He choose to be utterly reliant upon human parents, like our own sons and daughters, to provide Him with warmth, food, and shelter?

Because He came to be Immanuel—God with us.

As Christians, we know that we should “set our minds on things above (Colossians 3:2).” Our thoughts should be centered on God and things of Heaven.

But isn’t that a little generic? What are these “things” we should be meditating on?

Sometimes it feels like our world is spiraling out of control. It seems there is a new negative controversy every day. Even Boise, known as one of the safest cities in America, experienced a public shooting a few weeks ago.

So what can we do amidst the craziness around us?

When God looks at you, what does He think?

Is He mindful of all your mistakes? Does He see you for your brokenness and untapped potential?
