Ms. Amy: Why OCC is Important to Me

Recently, our family was sitting around the dinner table reminiscing about when our church first began to participate in Operation Christmas Child. Whitley noted our goal was initially about 50 boxes. That’s been 16 or 17 years ago now and back then, our family packed two boxes – one from each of our children.

Since then, our family grew by one, our goal grew exponentially to 2,000 and the number of shoeboxes our family packs grew as well. This year, we’ll pack more as a family than ever before.

Why? Because our time on this earth is short and recent events have only served to remind us of how short.

This could be the last year we have to share the hope of the gospel and the love of Christ with the world. And Operation Christmas Child is such an easy way to do that. Through a simple shoebox gift, a child’s life can be changed forever.

It doesn’t take much effort to pack a shoebox. It’s fun and costs relatively little in relation to the reward – a soul that spends eternity in heaven.

That is why Operation Christmas Child is so important to me. Lives hang in the balance.

You may be wondering how you can get involved. It’s easy. Stop by the Operation Christmas Child displays around the church. Pick up a box (or two or three), fill it with goodies, and return it by Nov. 14.

Or, you can give online and we’ll pack a box for you. Just click the link down below.

Our family welcomes you to join us in spreading good news and great joy to children this Christmas.

For Him,

Ms. Amy

P.S. Part of our mission at Life Church is to reach the lost. We want to take the gospel around the world. What better way than to pack a shoebox for a child, they receive it—grinning from ear to ear—and are led into eternal salvation? So pick up a shoebox today, or give online via the link below.
