The Guide on the Inside

How to Navigate Life

We would all love to have life all figured out. To have some sort of list and know all the steps we must take from now until the day we pass away. In reality, we don’t even know what will happen tomorrow.

But good news, we have a God who knows all things.

Throughout scripture, we have promises that God will direct our paths and that He has given us a guide on the inside to lead us.

“He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” -Psalm 23:3

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” -Psalm 119:105

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” -John 16:1

We are not wandering in this life blind, but we have a shepherd looking after us. God will always lead us to do the right things and to go in the right direction.

But in this equation of guidance, there is a God side and there is an “us” side. Through His grace, he leads us in the path we should go. And by faith, we choose to follow Him.

It’s just like salvation. God has made salvation available to all, but not everyone accepts it. Guidance is available to all, but it is our job to listen to the Holy Spirit and know He is leading us. We can choose to direct our own paths, or through faith, we can trust in God to guide us in all areas of life.

Today, boldly pray:

Lord, I believe that you are leading me down righteous paths. I go the right way at the right time. I do the right things because you are leading me.
