Throughout the Bible, God is given many names which echo His character. In Exodus 17, Moses built an altar and called its name Jehovah-Nissi, The-Lord-Is-My-Banner.

But how does a banner represent God?

A Gone with the Wind poster hung in the corner as a group of senior citizens sat in the theatre room of their retirement community. But they didn’t show up to see Hollywood stars on the silver screen. They sat with bread and grape juice in hand, ready to take communion.

Tassels? Check. Gowns? Check. Sunshine? Check.

Everything was set and ready to go as Life Bible College graduated the Class of 2023 on Saturday, May 20.

Any Christian would agree with the statement that “God is good.” But when issues hit close to home and are important to us, when we have to stand and use our faith, we sometimes start to question if God is truly good ALL of the time.

We had a blast celebrating Resurrection Day with you this past Sunday. With family fun, water baptisms, many salvations, and worshipping our King—it was an Easter to remember.

Moses felt the sand under his feet as he scrunched his toes. The bush in front of him continued to crackle with the sound of fire, but as the flames flickered and danced, the wood and leaves were never consumed…

When we spend time away from God, we can forget what type of man/ woman we are. We can allow words from others, ourselves, and the enemy to define us. But the only true “mirror” that defines us is the “perfect law of liberty” found through God’s eyes.

The Bible is full of truths, promises, directions, and various other words of God. But whenever we put too much attention and focus on one aspect, things can start to get wobbly.

As we begin a new year, we want to look back at all God did in and through Life Church in 2022.

In chaotic or stormy seasons of life, it’s easy to wonder, “Where is God? Why isn’t He stopping this?”

But sometimes the better “why” question is, “Why are you running from God?”

So you’re new to this Christian thing, just got saved, and possibly keep hearing people say “you’re a new creation.” You may have seen it plastered on bumper stickers and t-shirts. But what does it really mean?

What a wonderful time we had with you during the Christmas season at Life Church. From dedicating babies and the children's Christmas musical, to worshipping our Savior by candlelight, we captured it all in photos.

During this Christmas season, we’ve looked at different aspects of the birth of Jesus. We’ve looked at how it was the birth of a savior and the birth of hope. And today in this final installment, we’ll look at how it was the birth of “new.”

Join us as we continue to explore the birth of Jesus during the Christmas season, and all that came with God’s swaddle-wrapped gift of love. Today we explore how Jesus coming into the world was the birth of hope—a confident expectation of a better tomorrow.

Sometimes in the midst of Black Friday deals, Amazon packages, those favorite in-laws, multiple Christmas parties, holiday recitals, and more—it’s easy to lose focus on what Christmas is all about.

In the coming weeks, we’ll focus in on the birth of Jesus, and all that we’ve been blessed with via that very first Christmas gift.

The hardest moments in life—when we feel dreary, dull, and dry—are usually when we least feel like giving God thanks and praise. But when we choose to push past that, our Thanksgiving comes as a sacrificial offering.
